Bullshit Call Leads To Cubs Loss In Extra Innings

With two outs Brad Brach struck out Andrew McCutchen swinging in the top of the ninth inning, as the Cubs were holding onto a 4-3 lead. One problem, the first base umpire said McCutchen didn’t swing even though he obviously did on a 2-2 pitch.

A walk followed and with two on and two outs the Phillies tied it on a jam-shot single over the head of Anthony Rizzo.

Just like umpires guess on what a strike and what a ball is they also just flip a coin when it comes to check swings. They have no clue. The Cubs won tonight’s game and because of a guy guessing from 90 feet away they ended up losing.

But that doesn’t take away from the fact that once again the Cubs offense left way too many men on base and Kyle Ryan was bad again, as he gave up the game-winning home run in extras.

Ryan needs to go back to Iowa. The Cubs need some fresh arms and Tom Ricketts was right there, front row to see that he should just open up his wallet and go sign Craig Kimbrel.
