Brandon Kintzler Looks Like A New Pitcher On The Mound But He’s Still Salty Toward The Nationals

-

The 2018 season was one to forget for right-handed reliever Brandon Kintzler. After saving 28 games and being an All-Star for the Twins in 2017, he was dealt to the Nationals and then last year’s trade deadline he was traded again to the Cubs.

Kintzler’s trade to the Cubs was clouded with rumors that the Nationals thought the reliever was basically a snitch.

A few days after the report Kintzler made his Cubs debut and addressed the allegations.

So, he stepped into a new clubhouse with his former team calling him a rat and all the circumstances ended up being a complete disaster for Kintzler. He appeared in 25 games for the Cubs and had a 7.00 ERA in 18 innings.

He had a $5 million option this offseason and of course Kintzler picked it up for 2019. I’ll admit that I wanted no part of Kintzler being in the Cubs bullpen, but so far he’s been one of the most trustworthy relievers this season.

Heading into this weekend’s series against the Nationals, Kintzler has a 2.29 ERA and 0.71 WHIP in 19.2 innings. He looks like a completely new reliever on the mound, but he’s still pretty salty toward how things ended with the Nationals and he threw this jab at his former team.

The Nationals bullpen has a 6.20 ERA this season.

Hey, talk that shit Brandon, but as always, be ready to get roasted if you get beat.
