Here Is The Chicago Bears 2019 Schedule (Including Predictions!)

-

The Chicago Bears 2019 schedule isn’t supposed to be officially announced until 7:00 p.m. tonight. However, it doesn’t seem like the wider media care about that deadline. Leaks have already started with several teams having their entire slate of games revealed. This includes the Bears.

While it’s not officially official yet, the general belief is the lineup legitimate as multiple sources have confirmed them. This means the picture has finally come into focus for this team as their hopes to push closer to the Super Bowl rise ever higher.

Here is every game listed below including a brief breakdown and prediction for the likely result. Will the Bears be able to get back to the playoffs or will this season prove to be a disappointment?

Week 1: vs. Green Bay Packers (TNF)

This will be the first time in years the Bears get a chance to host their rival on Thursday night instead of the other way around. Matt Nagy will have plenty of time to prepare while the Packers will be breaking in a new coaching staff and a new offense for Aaron Rodgers. It’s never a gimme, but this feels like a game the Bears should take. (Win, 1-0)

Week 2: at Denver Broncos (3:25 pm)

A quick reunion with former defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, now running the show in Denver. History says this will be difficult. Not only because Fangio knows the Bears offense well, but also because the Broncos are 51-8-2 all-time at home in the first two weeks of the season. A mix of hard luck and difficult conditions gets them an early setback. (Loss, 1-1)

Week 3: at Washington Redskins (MNF)

The Bears have not beaten the Redskins since 2003. So it’s unwise to consider this an easy win. Washington was 7-9 last year and have some good players on their roster. Still, they have considerable quarterback questions with Case Keenum being their primary option at present. If the Bears defense can stop the run, he’ll be in trouble. (Win, 2-1)

Week 4: vs. Minnesota Vikings (3:25 pm)

The rivalry got flipped the other way in 2018. Chicago decisively seized control of the division in their first meeting and then humiliated the Vikings in their own building in the regular season finale. The Bears now know they can handle Minnesota and the talent difference doesn’t appear to have changed since then. Don’t expect the result to either. (Win, 3-1)

Week 5: at Raiders (London, 12:00)

This will not be the same Raiders team that stunk up 2018. They’ve already made nice additions to their roster in free agency and have three 1st round picks still to come in the draft. They should be better this year, at least on paper. Even so, the Bears have the advantage here. They won’t have to worry about crowd noise and the Raiders will be battling significant jet lag, traveling all the way from the west coast to London. (Win, 4-1)

Week 6: BYE

Week 7: vs. New Orleans Saints (3:25 pm)

Unfortunately, the Bears will be hosting the high-powered Saints in late October rather than late December as many had hoped. This doesn’t mean the weather won’t be a factor, but it’s unlikely to affect Drew Brees and that offense as much as hoped. The Saints also lost just one game on the road last year. This will be a hard-fought game with a sad result. (Loss, 4-2)

Week 8: vs. Los Angeles Chargers (12:00)

One of the more overlooked matchups of 2019. These two teams were really good last year, both showcasing a nice balance of both offense and defense. Matt Nagy has a deep familiarity with the Chargers from his days in Kansas City. Combine that with it being in CHicago, a place the Bolts haven’t won since 1970 and it’s hard not to like the Bears’ chances. (Win, 5-2)

Week 9: at Philadelphia Eagles (12:00)

Beating the Eagles is likely becoming an obsession for the Bears at this point. They were humiliated on their last trip to Philadelphia 31-3, and then lost the playoff game back in January on a missed field goal. No doubt the focus will be the Jordan Howard revenge factor but don’t be surprised when a highly motivated team stuns the Birds at the Link. (Win, 6-2)

Week 10: vs. Detroit Lions (12:00)

The Bears humbled the Lions at Soldier Field last year in a 31-22 victory that wasn’t even that close. Detroit has historically struggled to win in Chicago. It’s outdoors on natural grass with blustery wind coming off the lake. It will also be getting into November so colder conditions will be in play as well. Expect more of the same. (Win, 7-2)

Week 11: at Los Angeles Rams (SNF)

L.A. was humiliated the last time they saw the Bears in a 15-6 loss at Soldier Field. It was so bad that the Patriots used the exact same gameplan Chicago did to beat them in the Super Bowl a month later. This time though the game will be in the comfy conditions of California where their offense can operate freely. This will be a tough one to pull off. (Loss, 7-3)

Week 12: vs. New York Giants (12:00)

Revenge is still one of the best motivational tools a team can have. The Bears will have it on the mind in this one. Their loss in New York last season was a tough one to swallow and ultimately cost them a first round playoff bye. This time they get the Giants a home. A Giants team without Odell Beckham to save them. (Win, 8-3)

Week 13 At Detroit Lions (Thanksgiving, 11:30 am)

Chicago pulled off some serious magic the last time they went to Ford Field on Thanksgiving. Without Mitch Trubisky no less. Still, not every year is the same. Detroit is always a tough place to play, even when the Bears are good. Don’t be surprised when the Lions catch them a little flat-footed in this one, pulling off an annoying upset. (Loss, 8-4)

Week 14: vs. Dallas Cowboys (TNF)

Two Thursday Night games in a row. That’s pretty brutal. Then again the Bears navigated three games in 12 days last year pretty well. They won’t be intimidated by this one. A major clash of two of the best defenses in the league. Dallas will be coming to Soldier Field in December, so cold will be a factor. The Bears couldn’t keep up last time. Things change. (Win, 9-4)

Week 15: at Green Bay Packers (12:00)

The Packers will no doubt be itching for revenge by this point, having been humbled twice at Soldier Field over the past several months. Lambeau Field has been good to them in this rivalry and they’ll expect that to continue. Rodgers will be more comfortable in the offense by this point. That’s why it’ll be a major disappointment when the Bears sweep them for the first time since 2007. (Win, 10-4)

Week 16: vs. Kansas City Chiefs (SNF)

League MVP Patrick Mahomes comes to town. Trubisky will have his chance to show everybody on a national stage that the Bears were right to take him #2 overall despite the success of the Chiefs’ young star. This may end up being about the defenses though.

Chicago has one of the best in the league. Kansas City traded Dee Ford and released Justin Houston and Eric Berry. They can’t possibly replace all of that. Not in one offseason. Never mind they no longer have Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill is facing a police investigation for child abuse. (Win, 11-4)

Week 17: at Minnesota Vikings (12:00)

For the fifth time in six year, the Bears will close their season in Minnesota. Last year was great fun with that 24-10 win, but history hasn’t always been that kind. The Vikings are tough in their home building and they’ll remember that humiliation well. Besides, the playoff situation will likely have been decided by this point. This time they come up short. (Loss, 11-5)
