The Cubs are starting a three-game series against the Dodgers Tuesday night, but they’ll be without infielder David Bote. The utility man flew to Colorado immediately after his walk-off hit against the Diamondbacks Sunday afternoon to be with his wife Rachel for the birth of their third child.

The Bote’s welcomed Sullivan to the world and it appears as though the Cubs infielder will be with his family for one more day before returning to the team.

The Cubs placed Bote on the paternity list and have called up lefty Randy Rosario for Tuesday’s game against the Dodgers.

Bote’s played in 19 games this season and has one home run and nine RBIs with a slash line of .295/.380/.455. A great start to his season after struggling to finish his rookie year in 2018.
