Tommy John Still On The Table For Dane Dunning

-

Dane Dunning has been shut down after his throwing program today. Dane has been feeling discomfort while pitching and today while he gave it a go, this pain was still there.

Dane will see Dr. James Andrews for an evaluation on Monday and the team will go from there. Dunning was shut down last June due to what the team called a “mild elbow sprain.” Dane was still shut down at the beginning of this years spring training due to rest.

This is a huge blow to the White Sox and puts them farther behind in the rebuild. Dane is in the top 100 prospects according to MLB.com, coming in at 80th. The White Sox farm system continues to see injuries and it’s really not getting any easier.

If Dunning has to go the Tommy John route, he joins a list of White Sox pitchers who have had the surgery. Dylan Cease, Lucas Giolito, and Michael Kopech. The hits just keep on coming.
