No one knows where Bryce Harper is going to sign. I’m not saying the Cubs even have a slight chance of doing it, but just a piece of advice, don’t believe any of the bullshit that MLB “analyst” Jim Bowden spews on a daily basis.
After fans freaked out about Joe Maddon’s response to a question about Bryce Harper, there was more hysteria because David Kaplan had Bowden on his show Wednesday morning on ESPN 1000.
Here’s what Bowden said about the Cubs and Harper.
Great stuff with Jim Bowden on @espn1000. "The Cubs never engaged on Bryce Harper at all. They might make a whisper or two but they will not be making a big move."

“The Cubs never engaged on Bryce Harper at all.” Hmm. Here’s what Cubs beat writer Gordon Wittenmyer, who isn’t a homer at all, reported in December.

Bowden is completely contradicting that report, but that’s nothing new. It happens all the time.
HOWEVER! Jim Bowden is contradicting himself!!!
Just two weeks ago Bowden tweeted out the following, implying the Cubs were actually in the hunt for Harper.
Harper vs. Machado 2018 stat note:

Which is it, Jim? The Cubs have never engaged, or were they in the hunt?
Yeah, great stuff with Jim Bowden. GTFOH
