Play with my emotions, Bryce, I don’t care.

Back in November, Bryce Harper was named the cover athlete for MLB The Show 19. Perfect timing as the star outfielder hit free agency and the people in charge of marketing for the video game have taken full advantage of the offseason drama that has been the pursuit of Harper.

The official Twitter account for MLB The Show has been posting videos, projecting Harper’s 2019 stats for every team, breaking down the predictions by division. On Tuesday it was the NL Central’s turn.

And of course we trust video game projections the most, so obviously Bryce should pick the Cubs and the Cubs should actually try to sign him going off these numbers because duh.

Harper’s replied to a couple of these videos with an emoji, so yeah he’s having some fun with the whole process. Yet, there’s no fan base that’s getting teased more than the Cubs.

See, that specific tweet talks about food from the different NL Central cities and remember what city Harper said was his favorite for food a couple months ago?

Harper rarely tweets, but he took a couple seconds on Tuesday to send this.

And if we’re connecting the dots here…

Bryce loves Chicago food. MLB The Show listed the five NL Central teams and he quote retweeted, obviously saying he’s going to sign with the Cubs. Boom.

Or you know, Bryce is all in on the troll game. I love it.

The latest reports on Harper haven’t really changed. The Phillies met with him in person for five hours on Saturday in Las Vegas and they feel pretty good about their chances to sign him. The White Sox remain in the mix, but it doesn’t seem like Harper will sign anytime soon.

In the meantime I’ll continue to blindly believe the Cubs have a small chance of signing Harper.
