Cubs Have To Disable Comments On Tyler Chatwood Happy Birthday Post

-

The Cubs wished Tyler Chatwood a happy birthday on Sunday, when he turned 29-years-old and some fans were being real big assholes.

Sure, we’ve all made our jokes about just how terrible Chatwood was in 2018, for the Cubs. I may or may have not sent out multiple push notifications from the Sports Mockery app that read, “Tyler Chatwood sucks,” but c’mon, on his birthday?

Obviously not every fan commenting was bashing Chatwood, but the comments were bad enough that the Cubs had to disable them on their Instagram post.

And fans had plenty of fun on Twitter.

Again, the jokes are fine, and he was terrible but it’s not like he was being terrible on purpose.

Yet, personally attacking a player who’s on your team probably isn’t the best look, when you want to convey that you’re a part of the best fan base in baseball.

Looking at Facebook, the Cubs didn’t even bother to make a post there to wish Chatwood a happy birthday.

But c’mon, maybe let’s not be assholes on his birthday. And yeah, I get it, Tyler Chatwood isn’t the first and won’t be the last to get torched on social media by his own team’s fans, but it still doesn’t mean it’s not a bad look on the people doing it.
