Khalil Mack Salted The Wound After Destroying Riley Reiff

-

Khalil Mack is a monster. That much has been proven through his first 10 games with the Chicago Bears. Already he has eight sacks on the season with five forced fumbles. Over the past two games against division opponents, he has three sacks. The guy is delivering each and every week. Yet the greatest highlight to date might not be any of his big stat plays. It’s a single sequence involving him and Vikings left tackle Riley Reiff.

Keep this in mind. Reiff is 6’6″ and around 320 lbs. Mack is 6’2″ and 255 lbs. That’s a four-inch height disadvantage and 65 lbs weight disadvantage for the Bears edge rush. So how would you react if told that Mack literally took Reiff by one arm and threw him to the ground like a trash bag? Most wouldn’t believe it. Not until they saw the insane viral video for themselves on Sunday night.

That’s crazy. It defies the laws of physics in so many ways. Yet to Mack himself? It wasn’t anything special. At least that’s what it seemed like based on his calm and frankly glorious reaction when asked about it after the game.

“I’m trying to get to the quarterback by any means necessary. And if I have to throw somebody out of the way to do it, then it is what it is.”

That’s a bad man right there. It’s becoming easier to understand why he’s so beloved in that locker room and why offensive tackles in the AFC West were so elated to see him go. He is basically the Michael Jordan of pass rushers. At some point, sooner or later, he’s going to posterize you. Reiff became his Dikembe Mutombo. Not only did Mack dunk on him. He waved the finger in his face for good measure.

It doesn’t get more savage than that.
