Most of the country and others around the world were watching Monday Night Football on November 19th. How could they not? It was a matchup of 9-1 teams and two of the best offenses in football in the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs. They certainly got their money’s worth. The two teams combined for 105 points and several turnovers in a 54-51 instant classic. Everybody was thoroughly satisfied afterward. Well, everybody except Akiem Hicks.
The big Chicago Bears defensive captain watched the game like everybody else. However, he saw it from a somewhat different perspective. While it may have been exciting, in his mind that’s not NFL football as it should be. Being a defensive player, pro-level play should be about both offense and defense having their moments. He explained this to Mully And Haugh on 670 The Score.

A lot of people are accusing the NFL of becoming too much like college football. They’re so desperate to protect quarterbacks and offensive skill players from injury that it’s making life way too hard for defenses. It’s clearly unfair. Hicks knows one thing for sure. He fears the wrath he and his teammates would get if they surrendered 50 points.

Fans are anxious to see Akiem Hicks and Bears defense vs. Rams
Hicks and the Bears defense passed their first major test of the year, leading the team to a big win over the Minnesota Vikings. Now they want to see if this team can tangle with the darling of 2018. The Rams remain one of the best teams in the NFL after outrunning the Chiefs in that game, but they haven’t played a defense like Chicago yet.
Nor have they played in a place like Soldier Field, in December no less. That will happen when they travel to Chicago on December 9th. The Bears are 5-1 at home this year and the temperatures are sure to be cold. Keep in mind the Rams have played all but two of their games this year in either warm or dome conditions.
They played an unseasonably cold game in Denver and barely beat a Broncos team 23-20 that is currently 4-6. There’s no reason to think the Bears can’t be competitive in that game. Especially when their defense is superior to the one Denver fielded. We know one thing is for sure. Mitch Trubisky and the offense should be able to put up some points on that Rams defense.
