Javier Baez Doesn’t Care What You Think — Proclaims Cubs Are Still The Best

Only one day after losing the NL Central divisional title to the Milwaukee Brewers, Cubs MVP candidate Javier Baez seemed a bit pissed off during a presser before tonight’s winner-take-all Wild Card game against the Colorado Rockies.

Baez has had the best season of his short MLB career posting career highs in damn near every offensive category while simultaneously providing Gold Glove caliber defense at numerous positions in the field. It’s unfortunate for Baez that Christian Yelich of the Brewers somehow turned into Willie f*cking Mays during the second half of the season so Baez will rightfully lose the 2018 NL MVP award.

It was those Yelich-led Brewers that caught the Cubs during game 163 which resulted in the Brewers winning their first division title since 2011. Baez was asked what his thoughts were going into the playoffs as a Wild Card team this season and call me crazy, but Javy seemed a tad bit annoyed at the question and clapped back at everyone (I think the Brewers specifically) who think the Cubs are not the best team in baseball.

The old saying goes, “Talk is cheap” and I’m hoping Baez and the Cubs come out with a chip on their shoulder and actually PLAY like they are the best team in baseball — not just say it.
