NFL Sets Chicago Bears Win Probability High for This Week

-

The Chicago Bears are in unfamiliar territory right now. They’re 1-1 for the first time to start a season since 2014. The defense is dominant again. Offensively they seem to have weapons everywhere. It feels like this team can do almost anything if Mitch Trubisky starts to ascend over the course of this season. This may explain why expectations are higher than normal.

For the first time in what feels like ages, the wider public is buying in what the Bears are selling. This team has grown so used to being the underdog every week that’s it a genuine shock when they’re favored in a game, especially one on the road. That’s exactly what’s happening as they prepare to take on the Cardinals in Arizona.

Most experts are predicting they win the game. No doubt this makes plenty of Bears fans nervous. They know the opportunity at hand for this team and it would be just like them to blow it against an opponent they should beat. Cynthia Frelund of NFL.com though is confident they’ll get it done. How confident?

Chicago Bears win probability set at 70% for Sunday

That’s a pretty solid vote of confidence. No doubt it’s spurred by the pending matchup of the Bears defense against the Cardinals offense. Arizona has struggled in every facet on that side of the ball. They can barely run and haven’t been able to pass at all. Veteran QB Sam Bradford is the first stationary target Khalil Mack and that pass rush will see.

Considering what they did to Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson, who could move, this is a recipe for disaster. The only hope Arizona has is that they can establish the ground game and that their defense can match the Bears blow for blow. Chicago wants to prove they’re ready to show the NFL they can be winners again. This is the type of game they should take care of business in.
