Two More Prominent Denver Broncos Speak Glowingly of Mitch Trubisky

-

Von Miller was the first man to speak up about his impressions of Mitch Trubisky during joint practices with the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears. He called him “great” multiple times and sees him as one of those quarterbacks who can do a bit of everything, making them harder to defend. High praise from one of the best defenders in the league.

After another solid practice on Thursday which ended with multiple scores in red zone drills, it was the turn of two other prominent Broncos to voice their high opinions of the second-year QB. The first was a noted authority on the position in GM and VP John Elway. Most young fans know him as a Super Bowl-winning executive these days.

They tend to forget he’s a first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback himself. That’s why his answer to the Trubisky question should not be taken lightly.

“I liked Mitch coming out. I am sure he’s in his second camp and things are a little bit more clear and he has a good feel for having played as much as he played last year and going through his first year. I think Mitch has got a lot of talent and he’s got a chance to have a really successful career. I think they continue to make strides. It’s always hard. He’s putting in a new offensive system and he’s got to get used to too. Physically, he’s got all the tools”

Elway wasn’t alone though. Adam Jahns of Chicago Sun-Times caught up with Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles who just so happens to be a best friend of Trubisky. The two connected during their work leading up to the NFL draft in 2017 and have since grown tight, even working together this past offseason.

Garett Bolles sees a championship in the future of Mitch Trubisky

Bolles didn’t mince words. He’s a big fan of Trubisky. Not only does he think of the QB as a first-class person, he also sees major success in his future both as an individual and for the Bears organization around him.

“He has a great personality,” Bolles said. “He’s a great man for (the Bears) organization. He’s going to do big things in this league.”

“Playing quarterback in this league is rough … “ Bolles said. “Coming in (five games into) the season, not knowing at first if he’s a starter. “He’s a fighter. He proved to that organization that he can win, that’s he’s a starting quarterback.

He’ll do whatever it takes to make his team happy and one day get a ring on his finger. That’s what you want in a quarterback.”

Part of the reason Trubisky is so respected is his humility. He’s confident in himself but humble in the face of others who have done it. That was on display when he took time to speak with all-time great Peyton Manning who attended the practice. It wasn’t the first time the two had spoken. Trubisky was in contact with him multiple times before the draft and during the season, asking advice on how he can get better.

There are few authorities on the planet better qualified to offer tips. If nothing else, it’s clear Trubisky has plenty of fans cheering him on. Not to mention people willing to do whatever they can to help. That in itself is encouraging.
