Things are going so great for Javier Baez right now that even when he boots a ball on defense it turns into a good play. That’s what happened Sunday against the San Diego Padres.
A hard-hit ball was hit directly at Baez at second, who had the ball bounce off his body. Yet, the ball went right to Addison Russell, who was at the bag and was able to finish off the strange-looking 4-6-3 double play.
