Ryan Pace Personal Background Reveals Likely Plan to Reload WRs

Chicago Bears GM Ryan Pace has done a fine job rebuilding his team. There were plenty of bumps along the way and probably more are still to come. Nevertheless the team looks like it’s younger and more talented than they’ve been in years. The defense is running and hitting with ferocity. Jordan Howard and the offensive line are grinding opponents into submission. They even have a new quarterback that looks like the real deal.

If there is one area that he’s failed to properly reload, it’s wide receiver. Brandon Marshall was traded. Alshon Jeffery left in free agency. Kevin White has become a bust. In fairness most of the Pace moves have flopped to this point not because of talent but health. White and Cameron Meredith suffered season-ending injuries. Markus Wheaton can’t stay healthy either.

It’s clear he has some reshuffling to do on that part of the depth chart. With Trubisky in town that timetable has accelerated. Can he retool the unit quickly? How will he do it? The answer to those questions lay, as with most GMs, in his background. (continue to next page)
