Snapchat Video Shows Reds Prospect Sniffing Cocaine

-

No one will ever be able to say that Ian Kahaloa does things half assed. The young pitcher was a fifth round pick of the Cincinnati Reds back in the 2015 amateur draft. Hopes were high that given enough time he could work his way up to the big leagues. That plan may have just been torpedoed with one short Snapchat video.

Thanks to a clip on Twitter, the video show Kahaloa appearing to take a significant snort of what looks like cocaine. On it are the words “Party time lets go.”

Drugs and professional sports are nothing new. They’ve been intertwined for decades upon decades. However, with the arrival of social media it has become far more public in recent years. Players are getting caught on video, often due to their own idiotic mistakes. Putting the clips out there to people they foolishly thought they could trust.

Reds development director Jeff Graupe is aware of the situation and understandably “really concerned” over what happened according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. “We’re working to get Ian the help and assistance that we believe he needs to get his long-term future to a more stable place. We’re kind of putting the baseball on the backburner.”

One thing is for sure. Kahaloa needs to get himself clean and somebody need to take away his cell phone priveledges. Clearly the guy suffers from a condition known as lack of common sense. It’s really his own fault this situation has developed.
