Rajon Rondo Plans To Attempt Playing In Game 5 For Bulls

-

Rajon Rondo hasn’t always been the easiest man to deal with. Several teams can attest to that. One thing though that can never be said about the man is he’s soft. In fact he’s the complete opposite. The point guard has played through pain in the past but realizing his Chicago Bulls teammates badly need a spark, he’s planning something a little daring. Or crazy depending on perspective.

Just days after being diagnosed with a fractured right thumb, Shams Charania of The Vertical heard from sources that Rondo plans to scrap the prognosis of doctors and return for Game 5 in Boston.

Given what Chicago fans have lived through with the likes of Derrick Rose, who never even tried to return early from some of his injuries, this is a remarkable change in course. Apparently Rondo is so dedicated to this attempt that he was actually shooting at practice with his left hand. If nothing else one has to admire the man for his guts.

No doubt the Bulls can use him. After taking a 2-0 series lead, his injury derailed their momentum with the Celtics taking Games 3 and 4 in Chicago. A loss in Game 5 is all but certain to be the final nail in their coffin and Rondo knows that. They need somebody to be the floor general and free up chances for open shot. He is by far the best they have at that.

Can he reach anywhere close to his customary levels? It seems fans are about to find out.
