Earlier today, I wrote a small column about what was said during Jason Heyward’s famous Game 7 “rain delay” speech. Fans are now able to read the actual words that inspired the Cubs to retake the field in Cleveland and go on to capture their first World Series championship in over a century. We’re able to read those words thanks to a new book by Tom Verducci that is being released at the end of the month in which I may or may not have just pre-ordered.
Verducci shares another interesting tale in his book that centers around Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo dancing around the locker room naked giving motivational speeches throughout the entirety of the 2016 World Series.
No, I’m serious.
