It’s not everyday that you get to see a World Series champion completely crush a cricket ball on a baseball field so let me do you a favor and show you what it looks like.

Members of the US National Cricket team paid a visit to the Cubs Spring Training home on the same day that the World Series trophy was in the city of Mesa. The cricket team members were lucky enough to get to take a few cuts during BP which appeared to be much more difficult then swinging a cricket bat that they are used to.

I don’t know the first thing about cricket so I won’t get into strategy or technique of swinging a cricket bat because I literally have no clue about anything cricket related. The only thing I know about cricket is the pitcher delivering the ball in a sort of crow hop/fast pitch softball approach and the hitters using a bat that looks like a paddle that you get if you join a frat in college (or a paddle you got whacked with if you went to a Catholic school.)

After the cricket dudes were done making a fool of themselves with a baseball bat, they invited Anthony Rizzo to trade in his baseball bat and threw him a few cricket pitches and let him try to hit the ball with a cricket bat.

Unlike the cricket dudes, Rizzo didn’t miss a beat with his new bat.

I’m glad to see Rizzo is an equal opportunity killer of any type of pitches that are thrown his way.
