Cubs fans across the nation ran to their local tattoo shops following the Cubs World Series victory a few months ago. OK, maybe not ALL fans ran to get a tattoo but those who enjoy getting some ink done saw the Cubs winning it all as a great opportunity to forever commemorate the historic occasion on their skin.

I ran into a guy named Greg at this years Cubs Convention that told me the World Series championship meant so much to him that it was a no-brainer to get something to symbolize the Cubs first championship in over a century.

It took yours truly a little bit longer to get a championship tattoo because let’s face it, tattoos are expensive as shit. However, once I saved up (and convinced my wife to let me do it), I made a trip to my long time tattoo artist to get some work.

Three hours (and about 27 curse words later) this bad boy was done by Marshall Brown of Brown Brothers Tattoo shop. I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on my unusually large Commissioner’s trophy tattoo but I’ve also gotten a lot of shit about it as well, usually from people who have zero tattoos and don’t understand why people get tattoos in the first place.

So anytime someone gives me shit about it, I usually say, “If you think mine is over the top, check out this guy.”

Cubs superstar Javier Baez has joined the ranks of thousands of Cubs fans who have gotten some celebratory ink over the past few months. He shared his newest tattoo on the WGN Morning news this morning.
