I thought the Chicago Cubs were done having guests sit in on the broadcast during the seventh inning during games? Those appearances were saved for former players and I completely understand that, but why the hell is Ryan Dempster sitting in for an entire inning with Len and JD dressed up as Harry Caray?
Listen, I liked Dempster when he was with the Cubs. He turned his career around in Chicago and not only was he a good closer, he then became a great starting pitcher in the late 2000s. He’s a funny guy, good personalty, but his Harry impression isn’t even that good. Aside from that, he sat in for the entire seventh inning. I don’t care that the Cubs had a comfortable 6-0 lead over the Texas Rangers, if we’re going to complain about other guests being in the booth, then that has to include Dempster.
The Cubs had him answer a few questions on Facebook Live during the game. Here’s a quick sample.

You know what’s better than having someone dressed up as Harry singing the seventh inning stretch? A video of Harry singing that you can put on your brand new giant video boards that you have already done several times!
Nothing against Dempster, but we don’t need the Harry impression every single time you’re on.
And it’s not just me. Dempster annoyed a lot of fans.

Congrats to Ryan Dempster for making Jeff Garlin seem tolerable… pic.twitter.com/yc5IiJ42S1

The real Harry Caray should come straight up from hell and punch Ryan Dempster in the nuts.

Why can't Ryan Dempster just stay away?

Please Ryan Dempster, just stop.
