At 8-24, which is the worst record in the American League and only half a game better than the 7-24 mark of the Atlanta Braves, the Minnesota Twins haven’t had a whole lot of things to get excited about. Things have gotten so bad that the highlights aren’t even coming from their players anymore. They’re coming from the ball boy.
In the top of the ninth inning in last night’s Twins game versus the Orioles, Baltimore left fielder Joey Rickard smacked a 1-2 pitch down the right field line towards the head of a fan. Then this happened.
And you just gotta love the ball boy’s reaction after making the grab. No hoopla. No gloating. He just hands the ball to a youngster in the crowd (like you’re supposed to do) and gives a quick thumbs up. At the risk of sounding cliche, sign that kid up, Minnesota.
