After having their five-game winning streak snapped in last night’s 7-2 loss, the Chicago White Sox are looking to get back and get a series win this afternoon at Tropicana Field. They’ll send left-hander Jose Quintana to the mound today to take on Rays left-hander Matt Moore.
Quintana has had a solid start to the 2016 season. In his first two outings, he’s gone 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA and pitched very well his last time out, giving up only one run on four hits in six innings of work. He also recorded five strikeouts and has 58 in his last 10 starts dating back to last August. In that span, Quintana is 4-0 with a 2.53 ERA.
The Rays’ Matt Moore also looked good in his last outing, also giving up only one run on five hits in seven innings of work this past Tuesday against the Indians. He’ll face a little bit of a different Sox lineup today as Austin Jackson moves up to bat second today. Avisail Garcia gets a day out of the designated hitter spot and takes over in right field while Jerry Sands takes his place at DH. Jimmy Rollins is also getting the day off. Tyler Saladino will play shortstop today and hit ninth.
Here’s everything else you need to know about today’s series finale.
