Well, John Paxson and Gar Forman said there were going to be changes after a disappointing season. The first? The man who has been Benny The Bull is leaving.
Barry Anderson’s official title with the Bulls is manager of entertainment, however his actual duty is to perform as the team’s mascot. That will end in soon.
Anderson wrote a Facebook post on Friday informing people that he will be stepping down as Benny The Bull on June 30.
“After 12 incredible years, it’s come time for me to explore this world, this life, without my fuzzy red friend. In what’s been an impossibly difficult choice to make, I’ve decided that June 30th will be my final day at the Chicago Bulls, where my heart will forever live.”
The popular Bulls mascot has been named NBA mascot of the year in prior years and it was one of the most recognizable mascots in all sports in the country.
The next guy has some pretty big shoes to fill.
