After taking two of three from the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium, the Chicago Cubs continue their road trip tonight as they head to Great American Ball Park for a four-game set with the Cincinnati Reds. This will be the second series of the year between the two clubs, with the Cubs sweeping the Reds in a three-game series last week at Wrigley Field.
The North Siders begin the series by sending ace Jake Arrieta to the mound, who’ll be looking for his fourth win of the season. The reigning Cy Young Award winner has been brilliant thus far in 2016, posting a 3-0 record to go with a 1.23 ERA, which is currently good for sixth in the National League. Arrieta threw eight scoreless innings against the Colorado Rockies in his last outing.
The Reds will counter with Brandon Finnegan, who took a no-hitter into the seventh inning last Monday in the Cubs’ home opener before surrendering a hit to David Ross, who will be in the starting lineup this evening.
