It’s getting to the point in the NBA season where there’s going to be some games that mean absolutely nothing. One of those games took place Monday night in New Orleans as the Pelicans hosted the New York Knicks at the Smoothie King Center.
Both teams have been eliminated from playoff contention and the Pelicans were without three starters, including All-Star Anthony Davis, but they were still able to pick up a 99-91 win over the Knicks. Okay, great.
However, in a truly uninteresting game did come an interesting moment. With just over 51 seconds left in the game, a kid came running out of the stands simply to give Carmelo Anthony a hug, which is maybe something he needed on this night….and for the Knicks’ season for that matter.

Sure, the scene is very cute but certainly I can’t be the only that thinks the security at that arena might need an upgrade. I mean, Carmelo is standing near the top of the key when the kid gets to him. Just think if that was actually somebody that had malicious intent.
