The John Fox coaching staff is all but complete, and with it, the identity of the Chicago Bears has begun to clear. Fox and GM Ryan Pace have stated on numerous occasions that they want a tough, physical teams that is going to play good defense, run the ball and play smart football. Using those guidelines, aided by past history in terms of drafting for both fox and his coordinators, here is a look at some players in the upcoming NFL draft who should be on their radar.
Adam Gase has earned a reputation for being pass happy as offensive coordinator in Denver. In fairness, when you have Peyton Manning at quarterback it’s okay to want to throw the ball. In truth Gase is smart enough to understand this Bears team will operate much smoother with a balanced attack. Here are some players who can help elevate the offense.
Tyler Lockett – Kansas State
Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery offer a clear trademark at wide receiver in Chicago: size. However, the drawback is the Bears have overlooked the need for a speed element on the field to compliment them. Somebody who can take advantage of Jay Cutler’s big arm. Tyler Lockett would prove a superb addition. He has that second gear to get deep but also the polished route running skills to operate in the slot. He’s only 5’11”, but ask the Packers whether that matters to Randall Cobb.
