The first ideas of a GM have already been explored but fans have eagerly anticipated who the team might have in mind for the head coaching position as well. Ernie Accorsi is advising the team and there are many directions he could take them but no names have surfaced.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network has sources indicating the Bears are interested in interviewing Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase.

This really shouldn’t be a big surprise. Gase is one of the hottest names on the head coaching circuit and has been since last season when his offense set every conceivable single-season record there is on the way to a berth in the Super Bowl. Often overshadowed by the presence of Peyton Manning, players and others close to the situation, including Manning himself, indicate that Gase is the real deal. He has a tireless work ethic, creativity as a play-caller and a take-no-prisoners mentality. Running back C.J. Anderson put like this.
“I know whoever gets him, they’re going to get a coach who is very smart. He knows the game very well. He’s determined. He has that ‘(heck with) you’ attitude. Let’s get out there and get it done. He’s the type that puts his hard hat on every day and goes to work.”
The timing for the interview is right. Gase has an extra week off thanks to the Broncos having a bye week for being the #2 seed in the playoffs. At age 36 he’s very young but there have been previous instances of successful head coaches starting young. The Chicago Bears are thinking long-term, so Gase would make a ton of sense.
