Sometimes a team just can’t buy a break and that has become the case for the Chicago Bears. With Lance Briggs out, it seems Jon Bostic may join him. The second-year linebacker, who was in the middle of a steady improvement after a rough rookie year, injured his back in the loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 5. Both he and Briggs had missed practice all week but unlike the defensive leader, Bostic was classified as questionable for the game. Though that hasn’t changed thus far, there are signs that the team may already be preparing for Week 6 without him.
#Bears promote LB DeDe Lattimore from practice squad to 53 man roster and waive injured C Taylor Boggs. Maybe a sign Bostic is out.

DeDe Lattimore Elevated From Practice Squad
Already the Chicago Bears coaches were busy all week shuffling the linebacking corps to see which combinations they could employ should Briggs and Bostic miss the Falcons game. Among their most notable was shifting rookie Christian Jones to weak side linebacker from the strong side where he replaced Bostic in Carolina. That was the first surprise since most would consider Jones a much better fit at strong while Bostic has the skill set ideal for weak.
The next puzzling move came when the team elevated another rookie in DeDe Lattimore from the practice squad to the active roster. On the surface it could be considered a depth move, but putting those two together it sends a loud hint that though he’s questionable, Jon Bostic may be leaning towards not playing in Atlanta.
