On September 30th, John Groce had an in-home visit with consensus 5-Star forward Carlton Bragg.

Visit Season in Full Swing

Back in early September, Bragg unveiled his top five, which includes Kansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Arizona, and UCLA. Before his in-home with the Fighting Illini, Bragg had in-homes with his other four potential schools: Kansas (September 11th), Kentucky (September 17th), Arizona, (September 24th), and UCLA (September 27th).

Bragg has two unofficial visits scheduled for Kansas and Kentucky, on October 10th and 17th respectively. He has an official visit to UCLA scheduled for October 31st. No visit has been set for Illinois yet, but Bragg’s mentor Michael Graves told SNY.tv that they plan to visit “soon.”

Who’s the Favorite?

Right now, no one seems to have any definitive information on who’s the favorite to land Carlton Bragg. His 247 crystal ball hasn’t changed since he trimmed his list to five. Here’s how it looks right now:

  • Kentucky – 32%
  • Kansas – 29%
  • Ohio State (Out of Top 5) – 26%
  • UCLA – 6%
  • Illinois – 6%
  • Arizona (In Top 5) – 0%

All five teams are realistic landing spots for Bragg. Kansas and Kentucky are, well, Kansas and Kentucky. They’re blue bloods. 5-star recruits are the name of their game. Illinois head coach John Groce is well liked by Bragg’s mentor Michael Graves, and the Fighting Illini need a big man. UCLA and Arizona aren’t to be discounted either. Arizona head coach Sean Miller has begun to bring in some of the best recruiting classes in the country, and UCLA was the first school to schedule an official visit with Bragg.

Bragg was originally expected to wait until spring to decide where he will be attending school, but there’s a chance he may speed the process up and choose this fall. His recruitment is far from over, and the Fighting Illini are right in the thick of it. Stay tuned to Sports Mockery for all the latest updates.
