In an episode of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Stewart has a ten-minute segment where he dives into what the Islamic terrorist group, ISIS, is all about. ISIS has tried to recruit Americans, and guess what? They got one, and he is a Chicago Bulls fan.
What is ISIS?
If you don’t know much about ISIS here’s a quick rundown, they are like the Al Qaeda but angrier and they want to kill even more. Their main goal is to establish a pure Islamic state. The United Nations has accused the ISIS of committing “mass atrocities” and war crimes. According to Wikipedia,
ISIS is a Sunni jihadist group in the Middle East. In its self-proclaimed status as a caliphate, it claims religious authority over all Muslims across the world and aspires to bring much of the Muslim-inhabited regions of the world under its political control.
Apparently they are recruiting Bulls fans. If you skip to the 4:45 mark in the video, you can see the part where they go into depth about this Minnesota native/Bulls fan that’s decided to take his talents to Syria.
The Bulls fan/future terrorist’s name is Douglas McCain and he is from Minnesota, and his likes include Pizza Hut, and the Quran?
Silver lining here is at least this guy isn’t from Chicago. Chicagoans love their pizza and wouldn’t be caught dead “liking” Pizza Hut on Facebook. Chicagoans have way too many pizza options to mess with that trash.
All kidding aside, obviously terrorism is no joke, and whatever happened to this Bulls fan in his life had to be pretty bad to make him join a group as terrible as ISIS, but the fact remains, there is at least one Bulls fan in ISIS.
