CHICAGO — Yesterday, the White Sox sent second baseman and former first round pick, Gordon Beckham, packing. Trading Beckham has opened up a roster spot which will be filled by Carlos Sanchez.

Sanchez, a 22-year-old middle infielder, is currently hitting .293 with 19 doubles, six triples, seven home runs and 57 RBI through 110 games in Triple-A Charlotte this season. He can seemingly play all over the infield, having played two games at third, 44 at shortstop and 64 at second base which is where he will undoubtedly see the majority of his playing time.
