The Chicago Bears finally signed Santonio Holmes after many rumors surfaced earlier this off-season that they were looking at the former Super Bowl MVP.  With the injury to Marquess Wilson, the Bears have an opening at the #3 WR spot and Bears fans are hoping Holmes can provide stability at the position.

According to Zach Zaidman, he’s already showing extra dedication.

Even though he does have a Super Bowl MVP trophy, Holmes hasn’t lived up to the hype since that moment when he caught the game winning touchdown in Super Bowl XLIII. Not to be the bearer of bad news, but Ben Rothlesburger should have won that MVP.  Holmes actually dropped that exact same pass on the play before, but who’s paying attention anyway?

As Holmes looks to resurrect his career in Chicago, fans should proceed with limited optimism. Everyone remembers the Super Bowl, but very few know that Holmes has had only one year in his career where he surpassed 1,000 receiving yards. In addition to that, he’s only played in 15 games since 2012.

Bears fans hope Santonio Holmes can return to his 2009 form where he caught 79 passes for 1,248 yards while adding 5 touchdowns….hopefully he’s training to go above 1,000 yards for the second time in his career.

Bear Down.
