Little League World Series

A Morgan Park baseball team from Chicago’s South Side is one win from advancing to the Little League World Series, held annually in Williamsport, PA. The team, Jackie Robinson West, is made up of 11-12 year olds. Their Great Lakes Regional semi-final 13-2 blow out victory over Canfield, Ohio, was featured on ESPN on Thursday afternoon.

The team has received support from Curtis Granderson, who grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, and hip-hop legend Common, a fellow native South Sider.
