Another Chicago Bear has taken his place in ESPN’s Top 100 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. One more, it is on the defensive side of the ball. Bears linebacker Lance Briggs has landed at number 56 on ESPN’s Top 100 Defensive Players. He is the third Bears defensive player to make the list following Lamarr Houston(80), and Charles Tillman(66). Briggs fell from his ranking last year where he was ranked at 27.
Briggs has been to seven Pro Bowls in his career. The only Bears defenders with more Pro Bowl nods since the merger are Mike Singletary (10) and Brian Urlacher (eight).

The Bears are hoping that Briggs can stay healthy this year and help the linebacking core improve from last year and help stop the run.
