Jared Mitchell showed off his speed over the weekend with an inside the park home run. While the Charlotte Knights outfielder got some help, an inside the park homer is one of the coolest things to see in baseball…

Mitchell is only hitting .205 overall for the Knights, but was just recently promoted back to Triple A. The White Sox are hoping that Jared can get his skills to click and become a key contributor in the organization’s future.

The former two sport LSU star was selected 23rd overall by Chicago back in 2009 and was a highly praised prospect. It remains to be seen if Jared Mitchell will ever make it to the pros, but he remains patient and focused.

Everything happens in its own time and for its own reason,” Mitchell said. “I see success stories of guys I’ve played with and played against and that gives me the motivation to stay patient.”

“You need the opportunity to present itself, and that’s the biggest part of it at this level,” Mitchell said. “I’ve played well lately and given myself a chance by doing the things I can to get noticed by being as consistent as I can be.

“Everything goes with the opportunities that arise at the top. It really doesn’t matter if I feel ready or not. I think my game could bring a lot to a team in a lot of different ways – on the bases, in the field with my glove, at the plate. I think I could impact games in a lot of ways.”

Jared certainly has the potential to not only get a chance with the Chicago White Sox, but be an exciting player at the Big League level. Hopefully he can remain focused and fine tune his skills for an opportunity, because that’s all he might need…
