BREAKING: Chicago Cubs Trade Former First Round Pick

CHicago Cubs, Brett Jackson

The Chicago Cubs have traded former first round pick Brett Jackson to the Arizona Diamondbacks for minor league reliever Blake Cooper. Jackson was hitting .210 in Triple-A.

Brett Jackson was the Cubs 31st overall pick in the 2009 Amateur Draft. Once deemed a top prospect with power and speed potential, Jackson never seemed to make enough contact to be an impact player. He struck out 94 times in 81 games this season for the Iowa Cubs.
