According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, the Chicago Bulls have an expiration date on their trade offer to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love. Nobody is quite sure of that date yet, but time is running out.
The Chicago Bulls trade offer includes Taj Gibson, Nikola Mirotic and Doug McDermott to acquire Love. Fans in Chicago seem to be split on the deal, some are saying it’s way too much and the players are young with high ceilings. Others are saying that the chance to acquire an NBA quality big man as versatile as Kevin Love is extremely rare and the Bulls should jump at the opportunity.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are in the race and they are said to be offering two former #1 overall picks in Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins. Most think the Cavs missed on Bennett, but the jury is still out on that.
Minnesota is in full control because Kevin Love can’t opt out until the 2015 season is over, so I would expect them to take their time whether they have a deadline or not.
Love averaged 26.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game last season.
